Shaka Buku’s highly anticipated CD release so aptly titled “Feel Different” now out on Empower Records, offers music fans a refreshingly new dimension of experience. Using the science behind positive vibrations and neuro-linguistics, combined with timeless melodies, pop sensibility and ancient wisdom, creator Chad Nellis has crafted the work “With the sole intention of awakening greatness in people.” Says Chad of Feel Different, “Most people have a thick crust of self-doubt that holds them back from unleashing their greatest potential and living their dreams. This crust manifests in self talk, like: I’m not pretty enough he’ll never like me or I don’t know if I’m good enough to get that job, or I can’t do this because I might fail. This stuff is pounded into us our whole lives by our parents, friends and the media, but when you listen to Feel Different, something else happens. Your mood instantly changes and the crust begins to melt away as something great inside awakens. Confidence is restored and eventually, if one continues to listen and live the messages, it will lead them to the manifestation of their own dreams.”
New songs like "Set Yourself Free," "Good Times Here Today" and "Come Together", showcase the melding of influences from reggae and house music, to hip-hop and acoustic blues, creating a uniquely Shaka Buku style. A renaissance man in the truest sense, Chad Nellis has spent 8 years developing the sound, message and grooves of Shaka Buku, interweaving his breadth of talents as a Singer, Songwriter, Producer, Author, Athlete, Yoga Teacher, Mentor, and NLP practitioner, to create something that reaches far beyond your typical music experience.
With contributions from producer musicians Pancho Tomaselli (WAR, Nelly Furtado, Chaka Kahn), JB Eckl (Santana, WAR, Ozomatli) and Sebastian Morton (Sting, The Killers, Mary J Blige) the album was fine tuned over a four-year period with the help some of the industries finest talent and according to Chad “marks a milestone in the world of mainstream music.” Says Chad, "I've incorporated all I've learned from the greatest masters of both music and personal empowerment on this album with the sole intention of creating a doorway for people to discover inner power and gain access to their biggest dreams. But this isn’t your typical meditation music, it moves, grooves and its radio friendly.”
